The Pocketbag concept was realized in the summer of 1990. At the time I was a mortgage broker. While taking an application I went into my purse to find a pen and of course it was on the bottom again. Being an avid craft person I decided to make a purse with a pen pocket just for my pens. I made my first bag and was pleased. I decided to make a couple more to go with the bank uniforms we wore. While at the fabric store, when I was paying for more fabric I went into my new Pocketbag to get my pen. The lady behind me asked where I got my purse, because she needed one just like that. (I knew at that time I had a product that I could market to others.) This was the beginning of
"The Pocketbag®".
While helping me sew liners, my husband found the single pocket difficult to align.
He decided it would be easier and look nicer to have more inside pockets. With that thought a straight line was easier to sew than a pieced pocket.
The Pocketbag is all about convenience. The original Pocketbag design was created in July 1990 and has not changed. Additional designs have been added and deleted, but the original design has been stedfast since the beginning. All of the Pocketsbags you will see on line are the only Pocketbags we offer today.
